It is my pleasure to welcome you to the Christchurch Seido Karate Club. Training began here in 1965 and since then thousands of people have come through our doors to learn Karate. About Us

As the longest continuously operating karate club in Canterbury we have a long and proud history. Learn about the World Seido Karate Organisation and our own dojo.

Community Support

Since February 2021, Christchurch Seido Shibu has introduced a new class. The "Gassho class" meaning "gratitude" is a class which represents our connection with Hohepa Canterbury. 
Hohepa Canterbury is a disability support and service provider offering diverse living options, learning and activity programmes and community participation.  


The 10 week Gassho programme has been designed specifically for our Hohepa community and includes basic technique and karate etiquette. Gassho encourages those who are taking part to fully immerse themselves in a journey of learning new skills, having a sense of belonging and achieving their own personal goals.
